Reflection Post

This Composition II class has been a pleasure to take part in and I honestly feel that I have passed, not with flying colors or anything, but completed the course successfully.  There have been many concepts and topics discussed during some in-class workshops and homework assignments that I can say I have prevailed in comprehending and some I can say I did not.  Examples of some ways Professor Carey taught us consisted of: all of the handouts from the ways with words series, the cypher discussions, and even the blackboard assignments.  These assignments contained some reading which I also used to integrate successfully in my unit assignments.  My completed portfolio contains valid work to pass this course.  For example, I completed all of my assignments on time and with little errors as possible, with the exception that a few distinct parts were rushed, such as the end of my Annotated Bibliography.  My most recent assignment, the unit 2 research paper, was completed and turned in and then revised and turned in for a second grade which was passing.  Plus, I portrayed sufficient class participation when discussions were made.  The instruction I received from Dr. Carey was easy to take in or comprehend because she used the correct terminology to relate to our class, being a class consisting of mostly freshmen and sophomores.  The books assigned for this class, such as “Academic Research and Writing” and “The Hip Hop Reader”, were also instructive while conducting papers and assignments in Composition II.  The process for writing my research paper was a long a time consuming process, and I admit that my grade for this course was in jeopardy after the first turn in.  Being stressed is an understatement when it comes to what I went through while grinding this research paper out.  Being a college athlete and living at home, it seems there are massive amounts of distractions that affect the promptness and clarity of my work.  In the end, I may have passed this class by the skin of my teeth, but I do in fact feel that this class has benefited me for the better.
